Interval Lithology dialog

This dialog allows you to view and edit the Interval Lithology data set for a well.

Hint: it is easier to add Interval Lithologies using the lithology editor on the Samples & Interpretations Charts tab. If you do this, you will need to close and reopen the Lithology dialog before you can see the newly created intervals. This also applies to viewing the lithology chart panel in Samples & Interpretations.

To edit the data, single-click inside the cells. The lithology pattern will change when you change the lithology.

Press Add interval to add a lithology interval row at the end of the list. Type in the upper and lower depths, select the main lithology from a drop down list in the Lithology column and the appropriate graphic representation of the lithology will appear in the Pattern column.

Use Add qualifier to add a qualifier row in the same way. Qualifiers have a top depth only (no base depth). For Qualifiers and Accessories, and you can enter a Position, expressed as a % of the column width (from the left). For Stringers, use the right-hand column to express the width of the pattern as a % of the column width, and choose an Alignment. You cannot set the Position/Size to values greater than 100.

Note: The Pattern cell shows the design of qualifiers but ignores your settings for position/size and alignment. You will see the effect of these settings when you plot a Lithology Panel on a chart.

Use Insert interval and Insert qualifier to insert an interval or qualifier in the row above the selected item on the list.

Remove one or more selected rows from the list, but they are only deleted from the database when you press OK.

Hint: if you remove rows accidentally, press Cancel, and when you re-open the dialog the rows will still show. Note that most other dialogs do not work in this way: usually the term 'Delete' is used to indicate that data are immediately lost from the database.

Press Grain sizeto bring up the lithology grain size dialog. This allows you to generate and store appropriate grain sizes for your lithology intervals.
